The purpose of this study was to explore the organizational and managerial structure of the institutions in order to get an insight for the improvement of current system. The overall strategy of the study is a qualitative research based on an extensive document analysis. Data has been collected through self-administration from available resources in the libraries. The collected historical data has been analyzed to explore the key features of infrastructure and educational management. The study classifies a number of educational settings during the Umayyad’s rule that eventually converted into proper institutions of formal, informal and professional education during the Abbasid’s period.
